The aim of Rafferty’s Pizzeria & Takeaway centres around what Ed and Nicola believe to be “The Three G’s” to achieve the best possible dining experience: Great Food, Great Wine and Great Service.

And here’s how they do it...

Great Food: Ed and Nicola passionately believe that a fantastic meal can only come from quality seasonal ingredients, which they source locally within the region. Rafferty’s Pizzeria & Takeaway aim is to take those quality ingredients and match them with a passion for exciting innovative dishes on a menu that is always evolving.

Great Wine: Having trained as a Sommelier, choosing the wine list was always going to be more of a pleasure than a chore for Ed! Each one has been tried and tested, and great thought has gone into to matching the selection with the food menu. Not sure which wine to go for with your meal? Just ask and we will happily recommend one.

Great Service: Both Ed and Nicola appreciate that good food and wine can be lost where ambience and service are lacking. They work hard to create an environment where you feel relaxed, from the décor, which has a contemporary modern feel, to the warm Cornish welcome that meets you at the door. Come as a stranger, leave as a local!

Rafferty’s Pizzeria & Takeaway is owned and run by Ed and Nicola Rafferty.

Originally from Ireland, Ed first found his restaurateur wings when at the age of 17 he undertook the prestigious trainee manager programme at Simpsons-in-the-Strand, London. After spending a number of years in London, Ed took time to travel the world, expanding and developing his passion for good food and wine by managing restaurants and bars all over the world.

In 2001 he found himself in Padstow working at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant where he met his future wife and local girl Nicola. Over the next 10 years Ed progressed through the ranks at the Seafood Restaurant, eventually becoming Restaurant Manger. After leaving that post he was employed at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage in Plymouth as the general manager, before taking the decision to realise his dream with Nicola and opening a restaurant of their own.
